Faculty Clinical/Research Interests: The NF/SG VHS offers a GRECC geropsychology track internship with training experiences at two locations. In Gainesville, the Community Living Center offers short-term rehabilitation/skilled nursing, Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM), and palliative care consult team. In Lake City, the Community Living Center offers short-term rehabilitation/skilled nursing, specialty dementia care, long-term nursing care, and hospice/palliative care (inpatient and consult team). In the CLCs, clinical experiences include individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, interdisciplinary team collaboration, medical rounds, care planning, cognitive and capacity evaluations, and behavioral management utilizing STAR-VA. In addition to clinical experiences, trainees participate in culture transformation, Montessori-Based dementia programming, and staff trainings. Other available training experiences include Home Based Primary Care, Geriatric Primary Care, and Neuropsychology Clinic.
